ROAL is thrilled to announce that our latest recipient Edward Johnson played an unforgettable Round Of A Lifetime at world-famous Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland on October 15th.
Ed is a 22-year-old college graduate from Woburn, Mass. Before birth he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot. He's had two open heart surgeries: The first at 3-months-old and the second at 13-years-old. Ed was on the golf team for 3 years in high school and was captain his senior year. He went to Curry College for lacrosse but left the team halfway through his sophomore year and started a golf club. He was the founder and president of the golf club at the school.
"I can't believe I got picked. I was very excited to see where we were going and some of the course options were great, but as soon as Carnoustie was on the table it was a no-brainer to pick here," he told Scottish brodcaster STV News. "I've watched the British Open and all the professionals who come over here and it certainly lives up to the hype, that's for sure."
Ed played with his father, his brother Henry and his best friend Jack. The foursome made the Scotland trip an extended golf experience as they played number of other courses in the area.
